기원

Guangdong music is an instrumental genre of the Pearl River Delta that took shape around the late Qing and early Republican period, growing out of Cantonese-opera interludes and folk tunes.

예술 형식

Led by the gaohu fiddle and joined by yangqin and other strings, its melodies are bright, flowing and ornate, with pieces such as 'Rising Higher Step by Step' and 'Rain on the Banana Leaves' widely loved.

Guangdong music is national-level intangible cultural heritage and a flagship of Lingnan folk instrumental music.
