Guangcai, or Canton enamel porcelain, arose with Guangzhou's export-ware trade in the Qing dynasty — an overglaze technique of painting white porcelain with gilt-and-color enamels.

예술 형식

Artisans outline in gold and fill in color on finished white porcelain, producing dense, glittering designs of figures, flowers, birds and Western motifs, made largely for foreign markets.

문화적 의의

Guangcai is national-level intangible cultural heritage and a craft witness to the Maritime Silk Road and East-West trade.
