Xiaomeisha Sea World is the rebuilt flagship aquarium and marine-animal attraction of Shenzhen, sitting adjacent to the Xiaomeisha resort on the Yantian-district coast in eastern Shenzhen. The new venue, opened on a roughly 60,000-square-metre site with a total built area of around 132,500 square metres, is one of the largest new-generation aquarium projects in southern China.

The site is organised across five principal buildings: the main ocean hall, the whale-and-dolphin hall, the "Happy Theatre" performance space, the combined sea-lion and mixed-species hall, and a visitor-and-display service centre. Each building is configured around a specific theme within the broader marine narrative, and the route between them is designed as a continuous walking experience.

The collections include more than two hundred species of marine and terrestrial animals — large sharks and rays, cetaceans, pinnipeds, penguins, fish and invertebrate species, plus a selection of terrestrial reptiles and birds. The new building's seventy-four display tanks collectively hold around twenty thousand tonnes of water, with several tanks exceeding one thousand tonnes individually. The largest single exhibit, the "Ocean" tank, holds approximately 4,700 tonnes and is the visual centrepiece of the venue.

The attraction is positioned as a marine-animal display, science-and-technology performance, and multimedia interactive-education product in one, with a strong emphasis on immersive experience design. High-resolution multimedia technology, sound-and-light installations, and projection mapping are integrated across the buildings, blurring the line between traditional aquarium and immersive visitor attraction. The operator frames the experience as "immersive ocean culture" rather than a conventional zoo-style aquarium.

For international travellers, Xiaomeisha Sea World is best paired with a wider Yantian-district itinerary — a morning at the aquarium, an afternoon on the Xiaomeisha or Dameisha beach, and an evening on the coastal promenade. Allow at least three hours for the aquarium itself, and consider staying for the main performance programme.
