악왕묘 관광지 소개

Yue Fei Temple, located at the northwest corner of West Lake, opposite the Quyuan lotus gardens, is a memorial complex dedicated to one of the most revered figures in Chinese history, the Song dynasty general Yue Fei. For visitors to Hangzhou, it is both a historical site and a place where the moral imagination of generations of Chinese visitors is concentrated.

Yue Fei served the Southern Song court from its capital at Hangzhou and is remembered as a model of loyalty and patriotism, a general who fought to recover lost territory before being betrayed and executed by his own government. His posthumous rehabilitation as a national hero made his tomb a place of pilgrimage, and the temple complex preserves and interprets that memory.

The core of the site is the tomb itself, the burial place of Yue Fei and his son, before which kneel the iron figures of the four officials held responsible for his downfall, including the notorious minister Qin Hui. These statues have been spat upon, struck, and reviled by visitors for centuries, and their presence gives the site an emotional charge unusual for a historic monument.

Exhibition halls within the complex display historical materials relating to Yue Fei's life and military career, allowing visitors to follow the story behind the monument. The displays trace his campaigns, the political machinations that undid him, and the way his memory was later transformed into one of the most powerful symbols of loyal service in Chinese culture.

For travelers walking the shores of West Lake, Yue Fei Temple offers one of the most historically and emotionally charged stops, a memorial to a national hero whose story still resonates in the place where he lived, served, and was buried.
