쥐쯔저우 소개
Orange Isle is a long, narrow island running down the middle of the Xiang River in Changsha, stretching between the city's eastern old town and Yuelu Mountain to the west. Known historically as one of the celebrated scenic spots of the Xiaoxiang region, the island has long been woven into local cultural identity, and it holds particular significance as an early site connected to the modern Chinese revolutionary movement of the early twentieth century.
A walk or tram ride down the island takes visitors past manicured gardens, riverside paths, and a large sculpted head of the young Mao Zedong facing out toward the river, one of the island's most photographed features. The island's tip offers open views up and down the Xiang River, with the silhouette of Yuelu Mountain visible across the water, and regular evening fireworks displays over the island have become one of Changsha's signature nighttime spectacles for locals and visitors alike.
Because of its length, many visitors use the island's internal tram or simply walk one direction and take transport back, allowing a couple of hours to cover the main sights without excessive walking in the heat. Weekend evenings tend to be busiest, particularly around scheduled fireworks shows, while mornings offer a quieter, more contemplative stroll along the riverside gardens.
For a Changsha itinerary, Orange Isle is one of the must-see stops, easily combined with Du Fu Pavilion on the riverbank opposite and a trip up Yuelu Mountain on the far side of the river. Its central location and mix of scenery, history, and nightlife make it a natural anchor for a day exploring the Xiang River waterfront.
