Spécialités gourmandes
Présentation

Three types of toasted nuts — black sesame, walnut and peanut — are each roasted and ground into powder, then blended with brown sugar and lard or vegetable oil into a dense, fragrant paste.

Origine

This traditional Sichuan sweet takes its name from the 'three combinations' symbolising harmony and completeness. It was popular at temple fairs in old Guanxian County (now Dujiangyan) and has survived as a signature snack of the old-town district.

Comment le déguster

Scooped and eaten with a spoon, best when warm, with the rich nut flavour and sweet oil melting together into a comforting treat after walking the old town.

Caractéristique

The deep aroma of black sesame, the lingering sweetness of walnut and the mellow richness of peanut, united in one paste, are what make this dessert irreplaceable.
