In October 1956, the Wenzhou Food and Beverage Company opened the Wenzhou Jiujia restaurant at the head of Wuma Street, the city's first state-run restaurant. With only fourteen eateries left in Wenzhou after liberation, its opening marked a new chapter for modern Ou-cuisine dining.

Ce qui a fait sa renommée

Wenzhou Jiujia was once honoured as a "National First-Class Restaurant" and served many state leaders visiting Wenzhou; it earned the nickname "the Whampoa of Wenzhou chefs," training generations of master Ou-cuisine cooks and serving as a vital cradle of the tradition.

Savoir-faire emblématique

The house excels in authentic Ou cuisine, with signature dishes such as three-shred knocked fish, brocade fish shreds and flash-fried cuttlefish flowers handed down here, prizing seafood as its base, a clear and delicate flavour and equal weight on knife work and heat control, the representative craft of Wenzhou cooking.
