Chen Li Ji Pharmacy

Founded in 1600, Chen Li Ji is one of the oldest surviving traditional-Chinese-medicine houses in China.

It built its name on traditional Chinese patent medicines across the Lingnan region, with a reputation reaching Hong Kong, Macau and overseas Chinese communities.

It is credited with the wax-shell pill technique — sealing herbal pills in beeswax to keep them stable over long storage — a hallmark of its craft.
