Long Chaoshou was founded in the 1940s; by tradition a group of friends planned the shop in a teahouse whose name pun yielded the character "long" (dragon), evoking soaring vigor. Set in old Chengdu, it specialized in the wontons locals call chaoshou.

Ce qui a fait sa renommée

Known for thin wrappers, tender fillings, and clear broth, its chili-oil and clear-soup chaoshou are long regarded by residents and visitors as the city's standard, and it is among the best-known of Chengdu's recognized snack brands as a China Time-Honored house.

Savoir-faire emblématique

The wontons aim for paper-thin skins and silk-fine fillings: the dough is rolled extremely thin, the pork filling kept delicate, and the broth simmered from chicken, duck, and pork bones, then served in clear-soup, chili-oil, or seafood styles, reflecting Sichuan cuisine's ideal that every dish carry its own flavor.

Statut culturel

As a China Time-Honored Brand, Long Chaoshou sustains the craft of chaoshou and is often named alongside Zhong dumplings and Lai tangyuan, standing as a familiar face of Chengdu's street-food culture.
