Qingcheng martial arts developed within the Taoist cultural environment of Qingcheng Mountain, guided by the Taoist principle of 'valuing softness and yielding, countering from behind.' Successive generations of Taoist priests combined it with internal cultivation and breathing exercises to form a distinctive martial system.

La forme artistique

Its forms cover weapon sets with sword, broadsword and spear alongside empty-hand fist forms. Movements emphasise circular arcs and the unity of internal cultivation and external expression, treating martial training as part of the path of Taoist self-cultivation.

Importance culturelle

Qingcheng martial arts is an important expression of Taoist culture in the martial domain, ranked alongside Emeishan and Wudang martial arts as one of China's three major Taoist martial traditions, with distinctive cultural and fitness value.
