Xiandie Rock is a striking coastal rock formation on the main island of Dongtou, part of the island district that stretches off the coast of Wenzhou into the East China Sea. Its name, which means Immortal's Stacked Rock, captures the visual character of the site, where layers of weathered stone have been carved by wind and sea into dramatic, almost sculptural shapes. For travelers exploring the Dongtou archipelago, it is one of the most photogenic and easily reached natural sights.

The formation itself is a series of folded, stacked, and tilted slabs of stone, balanced one on top of another in a way that looks barely possible, with sea cliffs dropping away on every side. A boardwalk and stone path loop around the headland, threading between the rock formations and over the wind-sculpted cliffs, opening onto successive views of the open sea, the smaller offshore islets, and the long coastline of the main island. Xiandie Rock combines naturally with other Dongtou sights, such as the nearby Wanghai Tower, the Half Screen Cliff, and the island's fishing harbors, into a relaxed day of coastal sightseeing. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons, when the wind is refreshing rather than biting. For a concentrated taste of the island coast's dramatic geology and open-sea light, Xiandie Rock is one of the most memorable stops on any Dongtou itinerary in the Wenzhou region.
