The Lotus Mountain Observation Deck (Lianhuashan Guanjingtai) is one of the highest viewpoints within the city of Dalian, perched on a summit in the Baiyun Mountain scenic area along the city's southern coast. From its terraces, visitors gain what is widely regarded as the best single panorama in Dalian: a sweeping view that takes in the Xinghai Bay cross-sea bridge, Xinghai Square, the Binhai Road coastal drive, the Yellow Sea stretching to the horizon, and on the clearest days, the distant Lüshun peninsula. The deck is most celebrated for its sunsets. As the sun drops toward the Yellow Sea, the cross-sea bridge lights up in a sequence of color-coded LED patterns, the city's skyline silhouettes against the orange sky, and the wooded headlands of the coast turn deep gold. The combination of natural and engineered beauty — mountain, sea, bridge, and city — is what has earned Dalian its reputation as the "romantic capital" of northeast China, and this is the place where that reputation is most visible.

Beyond the sunset, the deck is a useful orientation point. From the railing, visitors can trace the line of the Binhai Road, locate Xinghai Square and the Sunasia Ocean World area, spot the Bangchui Island headland in the distance, and gain a clearer sense of how the city is organized along its coast. The summit is reached by a short hike, by road vehicle, or by the Lotus Mountain cable car, all of which approach the deck from different sides of the mountain.

A popular half-day itinerary combines Xinghai Square, a walk along the Binhai Road coastal trail, the Lotus Mountain viewpoint, and the nearby Yinxing (Silver) Beach. Sunset is the busiest time on the deck, so arriving early to claim a good railing spot is worthwhile on weekends and holidays. Binoculars enhance the experience, and a light wind layer is sensible, since the summit is exposed to sea breezes year-round.
