The Dehua porcelain firing craft is carried on in Dehua county of Quanzhou, where porcelain has long been made and shipped overseas through Quanzhou's port since the Song and Yuan.

La forma artística

Using fine kaolin, it passes through shaping, trimming, glazing and high-temperature firing, with a special mastery of porcelain sculpture, yielding wares of seamless, jade-like body and glaze.

Importancia cultural

Dehua white porcelain, known as 'blanc de Chine', holds an important place in the history of Chinese ceramics and overseas trade, entering the first national ICH list in 2006.
