Reino oceánico Chimelong

Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, located within the Chimelong International Ocean Resort on Hengqin Island, is one of the largest marine theme parks in the world and the single most visited attraction in the Zhuhai area. Opened in the early 2010s, the park established the Chimelong Group's Hengqin resort as a major destination in the greater Bay Area and has since become the principal reason most first-time visitors to Zhuhai make the trip out to Hengqin, drawing families and tour groups from across the region and beyond.

The park is divided into eight themed zones, each organized around a different marine environment or aspect of ocean life, and together they combine what is among the largest collections of marine animals in any single Chinese theme park with a full program of thrill rides, walkthrough exhibits, and live shows. The signature exhibit — a massive aquarium window set into a grand hall — is one of the largest single aquarium panels in the world, and the sight of whale sharks, manta rays, and large schooling fish gliding behind the glass is the park's most photographed moment. Three principal theaters host live performances featuring dolphins, beluga whales, sea lions, and other animals, and a set of roller coasters and water rides extends the appeal beyond the exhibit halls.

For foreign visitors, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is best treated as a full-day destination in its own right, since the scale of the park — the eight zones, the theaters, the rides, the evening fireworks and lighting show over the central lagoon — is too large to absorb in a few hours. The park is particularly well suited to families with children and to travelers with an interest in large-scale marine aquariums, though visitors with strong views on the ethics of marine mammal display should consider in advance how they want to engage with those portions of the park. Pairing the visit with a night at one of the themed hotels within the Chimelong resort allows for two days across the broader property without the overhead of a daily commute.
