Sobre Parque paisajístico marino urbano

The Yining "City Seascape" (Chengshi Haijing) is a large waterside leisure park on the north bank of the Ili River, roughly five kilometers from the city center. Despite the poetic name, with "seascape" used loosely for a wide expanse of river, the park is an inland complex of landscaped ponds, lawns, and boat docks designed around water-based recreation.

Spread across more than 130 mu, the site was laid out to combine open-water views with hands-on activities. Paddle boats and small electric launches operate on the main pond in summer, while lawns and shaded pavilions along the shore provide space for picnics and family outings. The design foregrounds "viewing the water" and "touching the water" in roughly equal measure, with stepped stone embankments that bring visitors down to the surface.

The northern edge of the park borders the Hanbin township orchards, which means that in late summer and early autumn the air carries the smell of ripening apples and apricots, since the Ili River Valley is one of China's major fruit-growing regions. Food stalls near the entrance sell grilled fish, cold noodles, and local fruit, and an evening crowd typically gathers for the sunset over the open river, which faces west toward the steppe rather than toward mountains.

For travelers, City Seascape functions mainly as a local recreation site rather than a marquee attraction, and it is best treated as a relaxed addition to a day spent in Yining's old quarters. Pair it with the Ili River Bridge at golden hour and a walk through nearby Kazanqi for a fuller picture of how riverside life in Yining has evolved.
