Sobre Área paisajística buyi de Fenglin

Fenglin Bouyei Scenic Area is a cultural and leisure park on the eastern edge of Xingyi, themed around the traditions of the Bouyei (Buyi) people, one of southwest China's oldest ethnic minorities and a defining presence in Guizhou's Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Built against the same karst peak-forest backdrop as nearby Wanfenglin, the site blends cultural display, performance, dining, and family-friendly recreation rather than nature sightseeing alone.

The layout combines several linked zones. At its center is a Bouyei cultural hall that introduces the group's language, indigo-dyed textiles, oral epics, and traditional architecture; a service area and pedestrian street recreate a small village of wooden houses with stone foundations, tile roofs, and rice-drying terraces. Around these are a lakeside walking strip — Langshao Lake, named after the traditional Bouyei courtship singing called "langshao" — a small town of craft and food workshops, a nightlife quarter, and a hillside park with flower meadows and trails leading up toward the surrounding peaks.

Cultural performance is the main draw. Bouyei dance and song traditions — particularly the antiphonal singing through which young Bouyei men and women historically courted — are staged regularly on the central plazas, alongside weaving and batik demonstrations. The park's setting in a karst valley means the backdrop is unusually photogenic, particularly at dusk when the peaks glow behind the tile roofs.

For travelers, Fenglin Bouyei works best as an evening destination or a relaxed half-day stop when combined with the nearby natural attractions of the Wanfenglin area. The combination of food, music, and easy walking makes it particularly suitable for families with children or for visitors who want to sample Bouyei culture without a multi-day detour to a remote village.

Note that, as a newer themed park rather than a heritage village, the experience here is curated and somewhat tourist-oriented — for a more "living" version of Bouyei culture, the ancient villages of Nanlong and the Na Hui settlements inside Wanfenglin itself are better substitutes. But as an accessible introduction with decent food and a beautiful setting, Fenglin Bouyei earns its place in a Xingyi itinerary.

The Fenglin Buyei scenic area (also called "Buyei Under Heaven") sits amid the karst peaks of Wanfenglin and houses a Buyei culture centre, a Buyei customs street, a Leyou town, Langshao Lake, grass parks and alpine meadows, gathering Buyei architecture, dress, song, dance and food into a many-sided portrait of Buyei life; it is the key place in Xingyi to experience Buyei culture and regularly stages Buyei Bayin sitting-song.

Visita: Strolling the customs street one finds Buyei stilt-house architecture, wax-resist dyeing and hand-weaving, while ancient Bayin tunes and the long notes of the leyou drift across Langshao Lake; folk song-and-dance shows, re-enacted langshao courtship and Buyei long-table feasts let visitors read the life and feeling of the Buyei amid the peaks and waters of Wanfenglin.
