Sobre Parque de humedales de Lashihai
Lashihai Wetland Park is located at the southeastern edge of Lashi Lake, about eight kilometers from Lijiang's old town, and has been developed over more than two decades into one of the area's key destinations for wetland tourism and cultural education. The park sits amid a ring of surrounding peaks and is framed by views that stretch toward Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance, giving it a scenic setting distinct from the plateau wetland it protects.
Within the park, visitors will find a mix of natural and cultural attractions, including a wetland museum and exhibits related to Naxi Dongba culture and regional ethnic heritage, alongside boardwalks that wind across the water and through reed beds. Birdwatching corridors offer opportunities to observe waterfowl, and various themed walkways and viewing platforms let visitors experience the wetland from different vantage points. The park is designed to combine ecological conservation with a broader tourism and cultural experience, so there is generally more infrastructure here than at the open lake area nearby.
Given the wetland setting, visitors should expect a mix of paved paths and boardwalks, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The park can be visited at a leisurely pace over a couple of hours, making it easy to combine with other activities around Lashi Lake such as horseback riding or boating on the open water.
As part of the broader Lashi Lake area west of Lijiang, this wetland park makes a good addition to a half-day or full-day excursion out of the old town, offering a quieter, nature-focused counterpart to the historic streets and cultural sites within the city itself.
