Gründung
Suzhou Daoxiangcun was founded in 1773 in the Qianlong reign, traditionally placed on Guanqian Street. It is the originator of the Daoxiangcun name and among the oldest surviving pastry brands in China.

Its Suzhou-style mooncakes and pastries spread across the Jiangnan region; the flaky mooncake, in both sweet and savoury forms, is the regional archetype and a traditional Mid-Autumn treat in Suzhou.
Charakteristisches Handwerk
Suzhou pastry centres on layered lard-and-flour dough that bakes into delicate flaky leaves. Mooncakes come in sweet versions with rose, red bean or salted-sweet fillings and savoury ones with ham or fresh pork.
Kulturelle Bedeutung
It was certified a China Time-Honored Brand in the first batch by the Ministry of Commerce in 2006.
