Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture (Hongjitang)

Hongjitang's traditional medicine culture rests on the Jinan pharmacy founded in 1907, weaving together herbal processing, ejiao making and a code of trade ethics — the cultural distillation of a century-old Shandong medicine house.

At its core are time-honoured herbal processing and the old tribute-gelatin method of making ejiao, stressing authentic materials and precise control of heat and water, alongside the motto of 'great enterprise to aid the people'.

Hongjitang's medicine culture reflects the craft and commercial ethics of modern Shandong's pharmacy trade, an important case for studying Jinan's traditional medicine and now shared with the public through heritage tourism.
