Stretching for several kilometers along the Taiwan Strait in Yongning town, on the southern edge of greater Quanzhou, the Shishi Golden Coast is one of the largest coastal resort areas in southern Fujian. The coastline takes its name from the sweep of pale sand that frames a sequence of coves, headlands, and small fishing harbors, and the broader resort area has been developed over recent decades as a regional destination for summer leisure, seafood, and seaside relaxation.
