The Mansion of Princess Heshuo Kejing is a Qing dynasty princely residence on the northern outskirts of Hohhot, preserving the residential compound of a Qing imperial princess whose marriage to a Mongol noble was part of the broader system of dynastic alliances through which the Qing court bound the Mongolian nobility to the imperial family. The mansion is one of the more tangible surviving remnants of the Qing state's frontier marriage diplomacy in the Hohhot region.

The residence follows the conventional layout of a high-ranking Qing mansion, with a sequence of entrance halls, reception rooms, and inner courtyards arranged along a central axis, along with ornamental garden elements including rockeries and water features set to the side of the main compound. According to local records, the mansion housed a succession of Qing princesses and noblewomen over the course of the dynasty, and although the buildings have been altered and restored over the centuries, the older underlying layout remains legible in the current arrangement.

The interiors and exhibition spaces trace the history of the princess, the broader system of Qing imperial marriages with the Mongolian nobility, and the daily life of the high frontier aristocracy that once occupied the compound. The architecture itself, with its heavy timber framing, grey tile roofs, and formal symmetrical planning, is an unusually well-preserved example of Qing domestic building in the region, and it stands in interesting contrast to the monastic architecture and old commercial streets elsewhere in Hohhot.

For a Hohhot itinerary, the Princess Mansion offers a quieter, more intimate piece of Qing frontier history than the larger monastic complexes and museums, and it rewards visitors with an interest in imperial domestic life and the political role of marriage alliances in stabilizing the Qing frontier. A visit takes an hour or two and is easy to combine with other northern Hohhot stops, and the garden and courtyard setting make it a pleasant place to wander at a relaxed pace.
