Shangbao-Reisterrassen

The Shangbao Rice Terraces are a vast 4A-level agricultural landscape in Chongyi county west of Ganzhou, carved across the slopes of the Qiyun Mountain nature reserve by generations of Hakka farmers. Covering a huge area of mountainside with a vertical drop of nearly a thousand meters, they are among the largest terrace systems in southern China and a living record of how Hakka communities reshaped difficult terrain into productive land.
