Dujiangyan Water Culture Square is a large public plaza in the modern center of Dujiangyan city, built as a civic tribute to the water conservancy heritage that gives the city its name and its identity. Stretching across roughly ten and a half hectares, it is one of the largest open public spaces in the city and a useful landmark for travelers navigating the area between the Irrigation System and the newer commercial districts. For visitors who want to understand how the ancient engineering works continue to shape the city's self-image, the square is a worthwhile stop.

The design of the square is built around the theme of water, with landscaping, paving, fountains, and sculptural elements that reference the history and the culture of the irrigation system. Stone inscriptions, planting schemes, and themed installations evoke both the long history of water management in the region and the practical arts of governing and using water that grew up around the Irrigation System over the past two thousand years. The overall effect is part civic park, part open-air museum, with wide walkways and shaded seating areas that make it a pleasant place to walk or rest.

As a public square rather than a ticketed attraction, it functions more as everyday civic space than as a primary destination.
